We want you to love your home.

The goal of our interior design service is to help you create a joyful, harmonious, functional home. If the results make a friend's chin drop, that's just a bonus.

Your home is a reflection of your own unique personal style. What does your home reveal about you? Does it mirror your tastes and desires? We all want a comfortable home where family and friends can connect, relax and enjoy spending time with one another. So how do you create the look everyone will love to come home to? One that captures your own unique personal style.

Your creative partner is waiting at Stange's.

 Design Service Options

  • By appointment only: In-store design assistance is free and easy. One of our designers will set aside time to help you in our store. Make a rough drawing of your space with some measurements so we can understand your space. Bring pictures, arm caps or a pillow from the pieces you plan to keep. Spending time one on one will give you a chance to see if you would like us to become your creative partner.

Realize your dreams for your home with our free in-store Design Assistance.

Call Stange's at 715-258-8113 to make your appointment.

  • Perhaps you just need a second opinion or the respected advice of a interior design professional before repainting or replacing window treatments, floor or wall covering. We're here to help. A Stange's interior designer will visit your home or project site for a one hour design consultation.

Get answers to your design service questions regarding architectural features, existing furnishings, color scheme, space planning or other important design considerations. Your designer is then available in our store to further help you with your project. If you choose to get more deeply involved, we'll credit your $100 consultation fee toward your complete interior design service retainer.

It's all about making it easy and fun to make your home all you want it to be.

  • Our most comprehensive combination of services, includes retaining an interior designer, dedicated to your project, who ensures the execution of a total plan according to functional and aesthetic goals. Among the services included are an in depth interview regarding your design preferences, two visits to your home and a complete design plan for your project.

    We learn what you want.

First we send you a questionnaire to get your ideas flowing. Then two designers will visit your home and meet with you & any key decision makers. We want everyone's voice heard. We gather swatches, take pictures & measure spaces. We'll ask lots questions about how you use the room and what styles and colors you are attracted to.

    We present our ideas

You'll come to our store for a presentation of the design plan. By the time you come in, we've spent many hours searching for the perfect furniture and fabrics to fit your space and achieve the look you desire. We'll have a color scheme and floor plan to show you our ideas to bring your home to life. If we're lucky, you'll love our entire plan, but we expect that our ideas will bring out more thoughts from you. Design is a communication process so there is a lot of back and forth until we settle on the final concept.

    We install and accessorize

Just like buying a pretty black dress, until you have shoes, a purse and jewelry, you don't have an outfit. Accessories have the same affect on your room. Your designers come back for the installation of your furniture and they accessorize your room. We'll use your things as well as bringing in new lamps, art and plants to complete the look. Afterwards, we will pick up any of the finishing touches that you decide aren't quite right for you.

You pay a design retainer of $500. When your purchases reach $5,000, we credit half of your retainer back toward your purchases. Plus design clients don't pay delivery charges.

Your complete satisfaction is our aim.

Plan your visit

Gather Samples

If you are shopping for a case piece (any non-upholstered item) and would like to come as close as possible to your existing wood finish(es), you may want to bring a small drawer with you or a wood chip if available.

If you are shopping for upholstered items you will definitely want to bring in pillows, arm caps, window treatment fabrics (bring the whole drapery panel if you need to), paint chips, carpet samples, etc. Perhaps you may not have pillows or swatches of your upholstery fabric. Don't be afraid to bring in your seat cushion from your sofa.

Also, it is common for upholstery manufacturers (especially leather) to sew a swatch of fabric into the deck of your sofa/chair. Look under your seat cushions for a small swatch of fabric. It may even be under the piece of furniture.

Draw a Floor Plan

If you have a scaled floor plan of your home or room, bring it with! This is probably the most helpful piece of information when shopping for furnishings. If you don't have a floor plan measure your room. This is how our designers do it:
Draw your room from a plan perspective. This often times is just a square or rectangle. Take note of any windows, doors, openings or fireplaces by making tick marks in the general vicinity on the "walls" of your square or rectangle. Pick a corner to start from. With a measuring tape measure from each extremity of the room to the next, i.e. corner to window frame, across window, other side of window frame, to the arched opening, across opening, etc. Write down each value, rounded up or down to the nearest inch, in its corresponding section on the square. See the example below.

Take Pictures

Snap a few photographs of your room and furniture. This helps us to understand your style and lets us see architectural elements that don't always translate well with words. You may even want to clip out some pictures in magazines of room styles or furniture styles that appeal to you. These clippings will help to narrow the search for that sofa or armoire you've always wanted.

Call Ahead

After you have gathered all of these samples and sketched out a floor plan, take advantage of our free in-store design assistance. Stange's has always offered free in-store help by our professional design staff by appointment. Our designers work with clients on a daily basis in and out of the store, so they have seen their share of design challenges. They may just have a creative solution to what you have always viewed as a problem. Call to set up a no obligation appointment with one of our professional designers today 715-258-8113

Allow Yourself Plenty of Time

This is very important. If you are really serious about purchasing furniture, plan to be in the store for an hour to two hours and two to three hours if you have scheduled time with a designer. We have 22,000 square feet of showroom plus a wealth of items in catalogs to see. You'll want to be sure to see it all.
We look forward to seeing you!
